Privacy Policy

Built for Bricks is operated by Namogo Design SRL, a company registered in Romania, with its registered office at Mircea Eliade 32, Valea Lupului, Iași, Romania ("we", "us"). We are the data controller for the personal data described below. This policy explains what data we handle when you use this website and our plugins, and the rights you have over it.

What we collect, and what we don't

This website runs no advertising or analytics-tracking scripts, and you can browse it without creating any account. It isn't entirely cookie-and-script-free, though, see "Cookies & similar technologies" below for the small, specific list of what actually runs and why.

  • Purchases. Checkout, payment, invoicing, and license keys are handled by Lemon Squeezy as Merchant of Record, they are the seller of record and the data controller for your transaction data (name, email, billing details, payment method). We never see or store your payment details. See the Lemon Squeezy privacy policy.
  • Emails about your purchase. If you buy a plugin, we may write to you directly about it, to say thanks, to check you got it working, or to ask what you think so we can improve it. To do that we read your name and email from our Lemon Squeezy account. These are one-to-one messages from a person, sent only to people who have bought something. We do not add customers to a marketing list, and your purchase does not subscribe you to the newsletter. Reply to any of them and we will not write again. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in supporting our own customers and improving the product.
  • Free plugin downloads. The free tier of each plugin is delivered by email. When you ask for one, we store your email address, which plugin you asked for and the date, in our own database (Cloudflare Workers KV), and we email you a download link that works for seven days. We also record whether that link was ever used, so we can tell a delivery that worked from one that did not. Asking for a download does not subscribe you to anything. It is a single delivery email and we do not add you to a marketing list. The checkbox on the download form is acceptance of ourTerms of Service, a contract, not a marketing consent, and we record that acceptance (the date and the Terms version) together with the request. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in delivering software you asked us for, and performance of the agreement you accept when you request it.
  • Inbound links. When you follow a link here from somewhere else, your browser tells us which page you came from. We store that address, the page you landed on, and the date. It is how we find out where people are talking about us, which for private groups and chat servers we have no other way of knowing.Nothing kept alongside it can identify you. No IP address, no browser or device details, no session or visitor id, and no script, cookie or beacon: it is read from the request your browser already sends. Two visits by one person and one visit by two people look exactly the same in what we hold. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in understanding how people find the site. Each record is deleted a year after the last visit from that source.
  • Newsletter. If you enter your email in a newsletter signup form (on the homepage or a product page) we store it, along with which page you signed up on, in our own database (Cloudflare Workers KV) so we can send you the product updates and occasional news you signed up for. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and we don't use the list for anything else. Legal basis: your consent (there's a required consent checkbox on the form).
  • Business outreach. We may contact businesses that have publicly listed themselves in professional directories as available for the kind of work our products support, to introduce those products. Where we do, we process the business contact details published in that directory (a name, a website, and a business email or contact form). Every message states where we found the details and how to opt out, and one reply asking us to stop is enough; we do not add these contacts to a newsletter or a marketing sequence. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in reaching potential business customers, balanced against the limited, already-public nature of the data. You can object at any time by replying or emailing support@builtforbricks.com, and we will remove you.
  • Feature votes & ideas. The "help shape the roadmap" upvote buttons on product pages store a random, non-identifying id in your browser's local storage (not a cookie) so we can count one vote per browser and show you which features you've already voted for, we don't tie it to your identity. The "Have an idea?" form stores your suggestion (and your email, if you choose to leave one) in the same Cloudflare Workers KV database, so we can review it and follow up if you asked to be contacted. Legal basis: legitimate interest (votes, which carry no personal data) and consent (ideas, where you choose to submit one).
  • Plugin license checks. When a plugin checks for updates, it sends your license key, the plugin version, and your site's hostname to our update server so we can verify the license and serve the correct release. We do not collect analytics from inside your WordPress site.
  • Beta feedback form. Submissions on the beta feedback page (your email address, message, and optional site diagnostics you choose to include) are delivered to us by Web3Forms, which processes them solely to forward the email and applies spam filtering. See theWeb3Forms privacy policy. Legal basis: your consent when submitting the form.
  • Hosting logs. Our website and update server run on Cloudflare, which processes IP addresses and request metadata as technically necessary to serve and secure the site. Legal basis: legitimate interest in operating a secure service.
  • Support email. If you email us, we keep the correspondence so we can help you and improve the products.

Signups, download requests, inbound-link records, votes, and ideas are viewable only through a private admin dashboard restricted to us (access-gated via Cloudflare Access), they're never public.

Cookies & similar technologies

We don't run advertising, retargeting, or analytics cookies of any kind. What does run is limited to what's strictly necessary to operate specific features you interact with:

  • Cloudflare Turnstile. Our signup and idea forms use Turnstile, Cloudflare's privacy-preserving spam/bot check, instead of a traditional CAPTCHA. It may set a cookie or similar identifier scoped to verifying you're not a bot; it doesn't track you across other sites. See Cloudflare's Turnstile documentation.
  • Checkout (once live). When you buy a Product, the Lemon Squeezy checkout overlay may set cookies needed to run that checkout session securely, see the Lemon Squeezy privacy policy linked above.
  • Feature-voting id. A random id in your browser's local storage, described above, functional only, not a tracking cookie.
  • Cloudflare security. Cloudflare, our hosting provider, may itself set a small number of cookies for bot-management and DDoS protection at the network edge, independent of anything we configure.

All of the above fall under the "strictly necessary" exemption from cookie-consent requirements under the ePrivacy rules, they exist to make a feature you're actively using work (spam prevention, checkout, vote-deduplication, basic security), not to track or profile you, so we don't show a cookie-consent banner. You can still block cookies/local storage entirely in your browser; some of the features above (voting, spam-checked forms, checkout) may not work correctly if you do.

Processors we use

  • Lemon Squeezy: checkout, payments, tax, license keys (Merchant of Record)
  • Cloudflare: hosting, DNS, the plugin update service, Workers KV storage for signups/downloads/votes/ideas, and Turnstile spam protection
  • Web3Forms: beta feedback form delivery
  • Resend: delivery of the emails we send you about your purchase, and of free-tier download links

Retention

Inbound-link records are deleted automatically a year after the last visit from that source, and carry no identifier to delete on request because none is stored. Newsletter signups are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete yours. Free-download requests are kept while they are useful for supporting the person who made them and for understanding which plugins people try; ask us and we will delete yours. Feature-vote ids carry no personal data and aren't linked to an identity. Idea submissions are kept while useful for product planning. Support correspondence is kept while relevant to your license. We keep a record of which customers we have emailed about their purchase, so we do not write to the same person twice by accident; it holds an email address, a date and a subject line, and nothing else. Transaction records are retained by Lemon Squeezy and by us as required by accounting law.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and similar laws you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, object to processing, and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in Romania: ANSPDCP). For anything related to your data, email support@builtforbricks.com and we'll respond promptly. For transaction data, Lemon Squeezy is the controller and can act on requests directly.
