Converting your first page
Convert one page first. Not because converting is risky, your Elementor data is never modified, but because seeing one of your own pages converted tells you more than any percentage.
Convert one page
In To convert, pick a page you know well and click Convert.
The engine reads that page’s Elementor data and writes a Bricks version of it. Your Elementor content stays exactly where it was: the conversion writes Bricks page data and its own report, and never edits Elementor’s.
Compare both versions
Open the page on the front end. In the admin bar you’ll find a switcher:
- Preview: Bricks, the converted version
- Preview: Elementor, the original
The switch is yours alone. Visitors keep seeing the page as it was until you’re ready; the preview is how you compare the two without committing to anything.
Flip between them on the same page, at the same scroll position, and look for differences in layout first, spacing, column counts, alignment, then type and colour. Check a phone width too: responsive behaviour is where builders differ most, and it’s the half people forget to look at.
If something is missing entirely on the Bricks side, a map, an audio embed or a payment button showing nothing at all with no note in the review queue, update to 1.5.5. Before that release those were carried in a way that needed Bricks’ code execution setting switched on, and Bricks ships it off.
Convert the rest
Once you trust the result, Convert all pages works through the queue in one pass and reports what happened: how many pages converted and how many review-queue items they produced.
You don’t have to do it all at once. Converting page by page and reviewing as you go is slower but easier to reason about, especially on a large site.
If a page was already converted
A converted page can be converted again, useful after a plugin update, or if you changed the Elementor original and want the Bricks version to catch up.
If you’ve edited the Bricks version since converting, the engine tells you before doing anything: re-converting rebuilds the Bricks version from your Elementor page, so those edits are replaced. Your Elementor data is untouched either way. The button says Replace edits & re-convert, so you can’t do it by accident.
What “converted” means for visitors
A converted page is a real Bricks page, not a shim, not a wrapper. It’s editable in Bricks like any page you built there by hand, and it keeps working if the Migration Engine is later removed.
